Storytelling: The Algorithm of Creating a Good Story

In the previous session, we already thought about this question and noted that every good story has a structure. One simple and clear approach to shaping a story concept is the 4P rule:

• People: who is the hero of the story?
• Place: where does the action take place?
• Problem: what happened?
• Progress: how did everything change, what did it lead to?

Today we will look in more detail, step by step, at how to plan your own narrative.

To make a story engaging and memorable, you need to go through several steps:

• Idea – decide what you want to tell.
• Hero – choose the main character through whom the story will be revealed. This could be yourself or another person.
• Problem or challenge – what does the hero have to overcome?
• Events and conflict – what obstacles appear along the way?
• Culmination – the most intense moment.
• Resolution – how did it all end, and why is it important?

These well-thought-out steps will help to make the story more emotional, allowing the reader or listener to “live through” it together with the hero.
